‘Zonder Liefde – Lisbeth List’ is a Dutch song that sings about how essential love is to living. Ingelots mother sang the song at her own wedding and continued singing it during the life of her daughters. A memorable line that inspired this painting is: ‘Van zo weinig kun je leven, al haast van de wind’. Translated: ’There’s little you need to live, the wind is almost enough’.

During the exposition opening, Ingelot recited a poem she wrote based on the song, while her sister sang alongside her. During the making of this series, lots of contradiction occured: confrontation with the fragility of living while simultaneously being gifted new life. The serie started to develop into a story about the stages of a life.
