These paintings were made during an Artist in Residency in Bunk and are currently exhibited until the beginning of May. All the paintings are available for purchase and will be delivered/available for pick up after the exhibition.
Ingelot van der Pol live-painted on the balcony at renovated church Bunk Utrecht 3 days a month, for 3 months. This exposition is an ode to the baby in her belly and the health of her loved ones. Made to celebrate all stages of life, embracing how vulnerable and unpredictable they are.
In June 2023, right after the plans for the Artist in Recency in Bunk were being formed, Ingelot traveled to Prague. The health of her father was on the front of her mind and would be an aspect in the making of these paintings. During her travels, a friend recited a poem he wrote and Ingelot fell in love with the words. She invited him to recite it at the exposition opening and made this painting, inspired by his words. That she would later fall in love with the writer, and have his baby, was unbeknownst to them.
The Dutch poem ‘In het land van je vader’ (translated: ‘In the country of your father’) by Arthur Beresford can be read in the photo gallery.
